USA has been kicking butt on those German, and Italian cars for years. This ZO6 is a very pretty car and will do well. There's an annual race here in Nevada where Big Red 69 Camaro bodied, Nascar chassis, BBC holds the unlimited class record at an average speed over 90 miles of 197 MPH.
The wealthy buy that foreign stuff, and even I admire the craftsmanship, but nothing is better than USA made!
Ok, while a tubbed out 69 Camaro is fast, pull that into a Starbucks and see how many chicks admire it. Now try that again (same driver, clothes, location) in a Ferrari 458! I would suspect the "usa models" would be riding away in the guys Ferrari!
Dunno if i like it or not...And for some reason, i still don't think the people who line up in the Ferrari dealership are the same ones gracing a Chevrolet dealership, despite my love of the corvette.
I'm sure the scoops, inlets, exhausts, wings, defusers, etc are all very functional, the same way Ferrari and Lamborghini have done at times, but as with those cars it seems a like overkill and a bit tacky. It does definitely remind of C5R and C6R vehicles which is cool, but still a bit excessive for street use...Unless they start trying to do things in Porsche 911 GT3 fashion (pay more, less carpet, sound deadening, and other comforts) then it seems like an odd marriage of blingy race prepped bodywork and "comfortable" date night interior.
Bingo! Great post.......but I do have a friend that had a Corvette (base model hard top) and replaced it a few years later with a brand new 458, followed by a 458 Spyder so the crossover can happen though it is very rare! He was asked to leave a Ferrari dealer years prior when trying to negotiate below sticker on a 430! We still joke about it with him, usually resulting in a profanity laced rant!

If your a player with a Vette and your losing models to Ferrari's, you need to find less shallow girls.
And stay away from Starbucks, Soccer moms hang out in Starbucks not hot "usa models."

I assume you're talking about a used GT-R, since the 2014 starts at $99,500.

I don't buy cars and not use them to their potential, most of the guys I know with high end cars are the same way, they actually use them.
I live in TX, we do the TX Mile here, and the TX Invitational is right in my backyard. For a car with ~600whp, that equates to about 200mph at the mile mark. Not to mention, 0-60 is a meaningless statistic now with sports cars. Cars have so much power and torque that it became traction limited long ago. Now, to really show how fast a car is, there is the 60-130 measure. There are guys I know that can do that in the 3 second range. Now THAT is a fast car, and those cars hit well over 200 in the standing mile. They're not being accused of accelerating slowly during it either.
You run among guys who use their cars. But for every one of them, there are hundreds that either don't take their performance cars to the limits (most fall into this category), or don't race them at all. How many have access to any kind of legal 1 mile course? Almost none. How many have any place reasonably close to top out their cars? Almost none. How many are willing and able to run at the limits? Almost none.
For the infinitesimally small number of people who will try to exceed 200 MPH, the new Z06 may be a problem. For the other 98% of the sports car buying public, I'm sure it will be just fine.

What is it with Americans and "ass kicking"? Some sort of inferiority complex? European car reviewers and magazines respect the Z06 and the ZR1 but still prefer other options. Buying a Corvette makes sense in the US but not in Europe. The Stingray base price is around 61,000 GBP/100,000 USD in the UK.

See the 5:30 mark: Ferraris are made by craftsman, Corvettes are made by two fat guys in Kentucky named Bert and Bob......That being said, he loves the torque and the 0-60 in 3 seconds, calling it Enzo fast!

You need to find a new Starbucks, particularly in a city setting (financial district perhaps)....oh, an get there before 9am (soccer moms still getting kids ready for play dates).
