solid reviews on usnews/consumer reports/car connection/motor trend.
great customer reviews from truedelta and watching various youtube videos, also read edmund reviews with solid reviews.
like the look more than the current gen.
like the mpg and has solid reliability ratings.
like the price, i can get one fully loaded for around 14k with 25k miles, including lifetime warranty.
i know the anti ford people will attack, along with the anti-cvt people, but this is what interests me and im going to go forward with a test drive in the next day or two. i have to find what works for me, not an overall consensus here.
I think it is a great choice. I bought a 2009 and was extremely happy with it. Drove great, no mechanical issues at all until my daughter missed a turn and the tree won the fight. I replaced it with a 2010 Fusion Hybrid and have been very happy with it as well.
The only complaint my family has had was my wife does not like the new style headrests since 2008.

im looking at the hybrid as well, but apprently the sel alone can get good mpg.
do you have to plug in the hybrid? how do you keep it from dying? (know nothing about hybrids)

You should look into it some more. A hybrid a mix of battery and fuel engine, right? So it charges while the car is being driven. It can get some energy from brakes and other means. I can't think of any hybrid that needs to be plugged in.
the 2010 fusion looks to have a throttle body problem, that was the main complaint on the 2010 fusion.
drivers said they noticed sudden deceleration. few times it happened on the freeway with some people and they had to get off real quick. surprised ford didnt do a full recall. apparently they sent out a letter to everyone that had the issue, andd are covering people.
The only issue I know of is the transmission, I think Ford had a hard time getting the software programmed right.
its the throttle body, that was the issue. sudden deceleration, car would go into limited mode. had to do with the chip sensors. videos on youtube showing the repair, can do it in 10 mins. ford is offering them to everybody affected for free though.
