Prospective Corvette owner here. Does anyone drive their Corvette as a daily driver?

I am looking to replace my boring mom SUV with something fun once the last kid is off to college. I can afford to spend around $60K but the car would have to be a daily driver. I would be looking at a new one. My husband has a Challenger so we have a car with a usable back seat.

I live in a snow free zone so seasons are not an issue.

What are your thoughts.

If you don't need the cargo room the C7 makes a great daily driver. With the drive mode in Touring the suspension feels the same as a sports sedan. Even the Z06 is comfortable ride wise in Touring mode, then gets progressively stiffer in Sport and Track modes.

The interior is comfortable as are the new ergonomics. It has all the bells and whistles available so part of its target audience are folks who use it as a daily driver, and there are thousands who use it that way.

Of course it's still a two seater sports car, so it's more like seating in a low riding cockpit rather than a living room chair.

Oh and it's fast.

Go take a test drive and see how it feels to you.

My Dad has a black 2002 Corvette Z06 with 6 speed manual. When I say black, I mean TOTALLY black, even the windshield is tinted (which I'm sure is illegal). The wheels are a sort of gunmetal color. I think he'll sell it soon though because he never drives it.

Yes my C5 is a daily driver. Its a very trouble free car. The most difficult part about using her as a daily driver is trying to find a decent place to park. My C5 also doubles as my patrol car so sitting in one for 8+ hours a day is like being on a never ending flight around the world.

Negligible interest and that was only for drive-away perfect at bargain basement price.
He ran out of money for it. If I get it down here I can get it finished if not sold as is.
No offense intended, but 68 is probably least favorable of the C3 besides the really bad late 70's. The 68 has a lot of 1-off pieces and is very hard to find parts for. Needs to be complete or will not bring much money due to 1-year only parts. Lots of bugs they fixed in '69. You think first model car is bad now, imagine 45 years ago.

My brother bought a 1966 327/350 hardtop back yellow which later became daytona yellow. Sidepipes and that teac steering wheel. He shouldn't sold it. Bought a washer and dryer and some other appliances for the wife. Dumb move!

My 2004 Convertible has been my daily driver since I purchased it last year.
It gets much better mileage than my Dakota pickup which was my daily driver.
Absolutely love this vette, and what really surprised me is how comfortable the seats are.
Being a fast sports car, one would think it would naturally not ride smooth, but again, I am overwhelmed at how smooth the ride is.

Bob.

I'm a former corvette owner. I saw this thread and popped in. It was a 2011 C6 Z06 that I bought as a college graduation present to myself about a year after graduating.
