I am looking for a door lock part for a 1953 Cadillac Series 62.

It's not the knob , but the steel rod that goes underneath the knob. I found the knobs for that year in a cadillac, but they did not have the steel rods.

Does anyone know if these rods would be pretty universal across various GM models?
Or any supplier that might have them

Would greatly appreciate it.

I attached a photo of the knob from the catalog to give a better idea.

Grab a copy of Hemmings Motor News and look amongst the Cadillac parts vendors, probably you can find something.

I would think similar vintage other GM cars would have similar lock actuating rods.

You can try Caddy Daddy and Honest John. I've dealt with both in the past. Ultimately, they didn't have what I needed, but they were both very knowledgable!

Thanks, I just emailed both of them .

I'm actually trying to locate these for my fiancee's grandfather . He has been working on his 1953 cadillac convertible for years..but we would like for him to be able to have it ready for our wedding .

Honest John is here in Texas. Probably closed for the day by time your email went in. I've always called if you want to try that. I think he's a one man show, or mom and pop type place.

Good luck to you.
