I think it's funny that the commercials seem to conjure the image of these other brands (Lexus, etc) as being better. I know the point of the commercials are to say "we're just as good!" but subconsciously I feel like it seems desperate and it just confirms in my brain that those other brands are the "real" good cars.
And I find the wi-fi commercials with kids really stupid. Who would make a buying decision based mostly on wi-fi? If you can afford a big data plan bill you don't really need it. Just turn your phone into a hotspot.

Actually, I know people who really want that.
They're also going to make a bin that you can put your phone in while it's charging that ducts to the A/C.
Apparently phones overheating while car charging is an issue. One can still access their phone thru steering wheel controls.
I've driven quite a few Chevys.
Everyone has pretty much the same stuff except things like cooled seats and power folding mirrors.
Well phones can over heat, and they won't charge if they do.
I did see a comercial for chevy trucks where they had people come in a room, state that the two cages they see are steel, and aluminum, and as they were talking, let a bear in the room to see which cage they ran to. Didn't know ut was for chevy till the end.
I rented a 2009 Malibu LTZ when it was new in 2009 and walked right past it 2 times before the guy said it's the silver one.
I opened it up and it was quite a surprise how nice it was.
The last Chevy I had stepped in was an 06 impala and it was your typical unimaginative, thrown together, boring, bland, going to be worth 3,000 dollars in 2 years overweight grandpa/government fleet car.
But the Malibu was fresh. The two tone leather and the idea that they had actually put some thought into interior styling was impressive.
It was like when Ford came out whit the Fusion and Edge. Prior to 2011. We were a German only car family. But in 2011 for the first time in 20 years an American car looked and felt nice enough to buy. We were looking at used GL, ML, GLKs and X3s when my wife spotted a 2011 Edge SEL. From the 02' Explorer my friend had I never would have guessed Ford would have stepped it's game up like it did. We liked all the features, it was good looking, the interior was nice, its been a great car.
So it's not that they don't know they are in a Chevy. It's that they cannot believe they are in a Chevy. That's how bad the Chevy image was to young adults.
