Default Naperville Subdivisions

What are the best neighborhoods in Naperville and why? We are considering a move from Chicago as we have a 9 month old son with plans on trying for #2 in the fall so we need room and great schools. I have noticed some neighborhoods, like Chicory Place, may feed into Aurora elementary schools. How is this perceived (positive/negative)? We really like Ashbury from what we've seen thus far. Is this the norm in Naperville (elementary school and community pool)? Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated!

Parts of Aurora called the Fox Valley Villages feed into the Naperville Schools. I live in that area the Oakhurst Subdivision. The area is very very nice, but some people still perceive Aurora as bad, just because one little section is not so nice. The whole Dupage portion of Aurora is very nice comprable to Naperville. The Will County portion feeds into Oswego Schools. Aurora schools in the area (Chicory Place) are part of the Naperville School District. As long as you stay in the Dupage portion of Aurora, your kids will attend Naperville Schools.

If you are going to move to Naperville I recommend staying in districts 204 and 203. I don't know much about other areas but I can tell you that these two districts do a great job and are safe.

We live in Naper Carriage Hill. It has an elementary school within walking distance, a middle school just short of a mile away, and the high school is tops. This is district 203. In this neighborhood there is a swim/tennis club, as well as the public library adjacent to the elementary school, so you could really walk to the library from the development. We've lived here for over 15 years and the neighborhood has really been great. Our development has an active neighborhood association that has activities for the kids (Easter egg hunts, picnics, as well as a yearly neighborhood yard sale). The neighborhood is an established one, with plenty of trees. It's not like the new houses springing up with no trees or landscape.
Good luck.

Thanks to you all. To the person who lives in Naper Carriage Hill ("acalich"), I actually told my realtor that I'd be interested in homes that fit within our price range in that neighborhood as it looked nice. I love that there is a library close by in addition to the elementary school. How far is downtown Naperville? Also, do you know of any other comparable neighborhoods that we should be keeping an eye on? We just got a contract on our downtown place so we need to find a new home... and quick!
