Default Relocating to Des Plaines

I was wondering if anyone could suggest some areas to settle near Des Plaines. I'm considering of moving from Columbus, OH to Des Plaines area for work. We have a new born and my wife and I are used to the surburban lifestyle. What's a good and safe area to live? What's important to us is price, safety, good schools, close to malls, groceries, etc.
