I am considering a move to Cary. Does anyone have info on this community? I am especially interested in quilt guilds, fabric shops, and restaurants. How does it compare to neighboring Crystal Lake and Fox River Grove?

I would say that Cary is smaller than Crystal Lake but a bit larger with more options than Fox River Grove. Crystal Lake has the larger, chain fabric shops and restaurants.
Cary is about 5 minutes from Fox River Grove and 10-15 minutes from Crystal Lake (depending on which side of Crystal Lake you are going to and rush hour of course). |

Cary always seemed like a real blue collar town where people move when they cant afford to live in places like barrington or lake zurich.

Cary has good schools, close to great shopping and nice 'hoods, train to the city.I always liked "trout valley" nice homes, rolling hills, heavily wooded, along the fox river
