sex offenders in Vernon Hills? (Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove: crimes, to live, registered)

So, I just looked at the city-data page for Vernon Hills, and there were 15 registered sex offenders listed. Frankly, I was surprised, since I've heard nothing but nice things about Vernon Hills, and that seems like a lot to me.

Can anyone shed any more light on this topic? Anyone out there have kids that live there, have you had any problems?

Remember that the sex offender registry goes further than just rapists, violent sex offenders, and pedophiles -- many have committed somewhat lesser sexual crimes. (I still wouldn't want to live next door to one, however.)

But anyway, as a comparison:

Vernon Hills: 1597 citizens per sex offender
Libertyville: 2418 citizens per sex offender
Mundelein: 2048 citizens per sex offender
Arlington Heights: 3553 citizens per sex offender
Buffalo Grove: 6159 citizens per sex offender

The state average is about 1000 citizens per sex offender. Vernon Hills is slightly closer to that than I'd ideally like, but not so much that I'd give it too much worry -- particularly if you make sure where you live isn't close to any of them.
