My SIL and BIL have lived in Woodridge for over 10 years and love it. They started out in a small house and a couple of years ago moved into a nice 2 story, 4 bedroom house built in the '80's on a wooded lot. If you remember streets you drove on it's off of 83rd street near Sipley School. That area is really nice and I think goes in Lisle. They're not too far from the new mall that opened up recently. One child goes to school in Downers Grove.

Some houses there I agree are small. They're old neighborhood had many crackerboxes, but in their new neighborhood the houses are quite nice. Maybe give it another look when you look at Lisle. La Grange is very nice. Batavia, Geneva area are nice and the drive isn't too bad, maybe 15 miles taking I-88 to 355. But, I'm sure there is a short cut. Woodridge seems to be the new epicenter for lots of things like shopping, movie theatres and golf.

Smile Woodridge is great

I grew up in Woodridge and then moved back here when we started a family. I happen to live right by I355 and this neighborhood is wonderful. The school system is fantastic and the town is just getting better. I will admit it is getting pricier but it is worth it. Just look at MONEY MAGAZINE, it made the top 100 for the list of small cities, not bad concidering this was based on the whole United States. I would definetly recommend this town.

You should look into Lemont. Great schools and small town atmosphere. Actually feels like a town, not just one suburb running into another like so many areas in the chicagoland area. Taxes in Cook county Lemont are lower than Will county. Housing stock is affordable and varied. You have great access to I-55 and
355. Check out Lemont at http://www.lemont.il.us/
