I have just moved to Naperville from the UK and I have a baby. I am struggling to find any social events for mother's who have babies. Does anyone know of any social events or where mother's might meet up with their babies around the area?

Welcome to Illinois! Though I don't live in Naperville, I've had good experiences meeting other parents with children during activities offered by my local library and through the parks and recreation department. Here's the children's link to the N'ville library, which appears to have frequent activities:
Welcome to the Children's Services (http://www.naperville-lib.info/LibServices/children/kids.htm - broken link)

Also, the link to the early childhood section of the N'ville parks and recreation department site:

Wishing you many great experiences!

A friend of mine in Lisle met a great bunch of new moms via meetup.com.

Welcome to Naperville. Great suggestions so far. You might also look at Mommy and Me classes at the YMCA or at a yoga studio. I live near Sky Yoga Studio and have heard good things. It's not difficult to chat with other moms afterward and invite them to have coffee or a bite to eat.

When we had our first, I know my wife took our daughter to one of those child gym classes and socialized there. You could try The Little Gym or My Gym, depending on where you are.

Not sure if this has been posted, but Naperville has a newcomer's club with mom and tot activities

Naperville New Comers and Neighbors Club

There is a meetup group as well.

thank you very much for your help and advice. I will have a look into the websites and gyms. I am in real need of adult conversation at the moment and I am going crazy everyday in the house.

If I didn't live so far away I'd come visit, I'm also from the UK and have a 4 month old but I'm a good 50 miles out!
