Unhappy Jobs for teacher

HELP!! I recently moved to Schaumburg and cannot find work as an elementary school teacher . I am pretty bummed, coming from a wonderful school in Omaha. Now what? Where can I look for jobs that may keep me in the education field, and are full time? How likely is it that I will be able to sub on a regular basis?

Question Two questions:

I am not saying that I can find you a job, but since I am moving form MI and HAVE acquired a job, maybe I can help.
1.) Are you willing to work IN Chicago Public Schools?
2.) Have you looked and (and signed up for) the State of Illinois Board of Ed (ISBE) website? I was getting notices from them about potential jobs in suburb schools.

If I can be on any help, please let me know.

Good Luck!!!
-TM

I wouldn't mind working for CPS, but I thought that I had to live in the city limits (and I don't). How did you get in? I would love to know how you did it. Thanks for the advice!!

This area is very, very competitive. I was told that teachers around here are a "dime a dozen" unless you're in the special education, reading specialist or ELL field. I finally found a teaching job after two years. I just kept applying and finally hand delivered my resume to the district office.

This is a great source:

I'm new to the area, just moved from Omaha as well! Which part of Omaha are you from & what brought you out to Chicagoland?

Best of luck in your job search. If you're in Schamburg, you can easily search in DuPage and Kane counties as well.
