Naperville= on the expensive side, but personally I think if you can afford to live there its WELL WORTH IT! The amount of things to do there (biking, parks for the kids, awesome libraries, River Walk, restaraunts, etc) all of these things are at your fingertips in downtown Naperville. Honestly, if I were moving from out of state, I would settle in Naperville or close to Naperville instead of some of the other places here.

I agree with the above. In addition, the Metra commuter rail service between downtown Naperville and Chicago is excellent.

What is the obsession with discussing Naperville, ad infinitum?? I currently live in Napervillle but I have lived in Palos Hills, Crystal Lake, Burr Ridge, Willowbrook and they ALL have their pros and cons. People live where they are comfortable and that is the great thing about free choice. I see no gain from debating the size, prestige, traffic, taxes, etc unless you are specifically comparing to another suburb when deciding where to live. There is no other suburb that attracts this much debate and I just don't understand it. If you don't like it, don't live here. Simple.

There's a lot of interest in Naperville, that's why. For the most part anyone considering Lisle, Wheaton, Aurora, Bolingbrook will probably also consider Naperville.

You could take your own advice, if you dont like it dont live there kinda like if you don't like the threads don't read them, move on to the next

I would argue Illinois is one of the most heavily taxed state and people are moving out. Especially in the Chicago area, property taxes are are arguably the highest in the nation. Expect to pay for a decent home 12K annually in property taxes alone, so if can afford two mortgages then paying the tax and a mortgage will do. We have this democratic tax and spending machine that just never quits, a 6% income tax on top of the a heavy sales tax near 10% and one gets the picture very quickly it is unfordable to stay here.

Stay in AZ, or move to Wisconsin or Indiana.

Where we live now it's about 30 miles from downtown Phoenix which to say the least is DEADS-VILLE. Nothing ever goes on there down there, unless it's a sporting event (d-backs or suns) so we rarely venture downtown. We do travel to other cities though Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, and Scottsdale. I am looking for some feedback regarding over-all relocating as well as job, housing, schooling and of course the one my wife fears the most Weather

I lived in Illinois previously and miss the seasons, altough we have beautiful scenary here it's just not the same looking at rocks, cactuses and dirt all the time. Anyway any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks
Naperville is a decent area but it has its drawbacks too
for one it is furter out than alot of suburbs.

I know its probably about the same distance but i think Tinley Park and Orland Park offer alot of what Naperville has to offer.

Napervilles downtown area is charming and I like it there too
Its far enough away from the city but close enough to do a commute in a reasonable amount of time.

The city is not for everyone and the suburban feel appeals to many
