Anyone know anything about this topic?
I am a tenant, it seems the owner of my townhome hasn't paid her association fees and was served by a Sheriff process server on behalf of the Associations lawyers, to appear in court for "Forcible Entry and Detainer" of the premises. She made a payment arrangment with the association 6 months ago and just tonight, she is being served again. Looks like she didn't keep her payment arrangement. I pay my rent on time and never have had any problems. But what does all this mean to me? Just because she doesn't pay her associations fees, they can actually and physically "evict" me? Anyone? I have kids in this school district. She won't talk to me about this, and says its being taken care of. What is she doesn't take care of it? Do I have any legal options as a tenant? HELP!

Have you considered speaking with someone at the association? If they do take over the property it would make sense for them to keep it occupied.

I agree i would talk things over with the association. Also perhaps tell the person that owns the house that you will be paying the association fee yourself, and take it out of the rent you will give them. At worst yes, the association could evict you if the owner has not paid the dues.
