There are too few scholarships at ctd and cfg, and just about zero support for transporstiona ND other "real world" issues. This makes such programs "economically elitist" and an easy target in times of budget cutting.

I wish that folks would have a little more backbone / forethought and realize that if the kids at the right end of the bell curve do not get the support they need it squashes down our societies peaks just as harshly as cutting the support for kids at the left end of the curve pulls down our valleys.

Education is too important to let funding issues harm any group of kids.
IMO one of the things about CTD that makes it such a standout is its local community outreach and its commitment to needs-based scholarship programs including:

Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars Program (grade 7)
invites students to apply for substantial funding throughout high school and provides invaluable coaching and practice in preparing future scholarship applications
Next Generation Venture Fund (grade 8)
provides resources and guidance at no cost to help academically gifted students from underrepresented backgrounds prepare for and be successful at the nation’s top colleges and universities.
Project BLAST (grades 3+)
levels the playing field for students with financial need, enabling them to experience three years of academic and cultural programming free of charge
Project EXCITE (grades 3+)
prepares minority students for success in high-level math and science courses by enrolling them in enrichment courses paid for by Northwestern University
