With traffic (like stop and go traffic), I would say an hour, at least. I think if no traffic probably 40 min? That's how it used to be for me when I drove that distance.

When I lived up there, I commuted from Chicago to Schaumburg. During rush hour (leaving the city at 6am, coming home at 4pm) it was anywhere between 55 min and 1 hr 20 min, depending on traffic.

Like everyone else says: about 45 mins to 1.5 hours on average. Itd take me about 45 minutes from Streets of Woodfield on good nights, about 1.5 hours with pretty heavy traffic.

It takes 1 hour and 6 minutes if you ride Metra's Milwaukee district/ West Line train. So, maybe an hour and a half by car (not sure about that). It might be a really long commute with all of the traffic.

Well, I moved from Tidewater to Chicago. In ten years of commuting to Schaumburg (40 miles) I never did it in less than 45 minutes. And 75 mph was my preferred cruising speed. It averaged to just over an hour. Rapid trans took 1 and a half to two hours. Remember, there are alternate routes to Schaumburg and the main routes are not scheduled for road repair for another two or three years.

Your results may vary.
