Can anyone suggest a good restaurant/bar for meeting up with a new business associate? Casual environment, extended stay, large table, not too loud, drinks and light food (tapas, etc) would be nice.

Something just west of the city is a half way point. I was thinking Downers Grove / La Grange area.

Thank you for any recommendations!

Default Tapas?

Emelio's in Hillside still turns out pretty impressive plates. It is still the most honest presntwtionnof classic Spanish tapas by a long mile.

Menu at Grapevine in LaGrange is nice Greek / Mediterian fare, but wobbly tabboes and small number of 'em toghethet with noisy open ceiling are not so good for meeting business associates.

More "business type" places (with pretty standard type menus) include J. Alexander's in Oak Brook near Border's and Red stone in Oakbrook Terrace near the fork of 22nd and

I really like DOC wine bar in Lombard as part of the outdoor section of Yorktown Mall, it is far more personal than the other corporate chain type places nearby, and the menu is great for grazing on the kind of food that one does get at nightspots in Italy as opposed to mammoth mounds of pasta that other places seem content to serve.

Some folks also like the bar food at Papadeux in Westmont, but I have had problems with quality / preparation at times...
