What do you think of Barrington, IL
Hi,
I have been looking in to moving to Barrington, IL. I like the size and privacy of the property's. Looking at greatschools it shows the schools are good and the crime data in city-data seems to be low.
What does everyone else think? Is this a good place to live?

Moving to Barrington
Barrington, IL is a great place to live and raise a family. There are countless places to go and enjoy the outdoors. My favorites are the forest preserves and nature trails. Plus, there are tons of lakes and golf courses.
The Barrington area is comprised of several different communities each with its own character and amenities. They include (from the north) Lake Barrington, North Barrington, Barrington Hills, Barrington and South Barrington.
For more information on schools visit the district's website: District 220 - Home

My family is from Lake Barrington, and yes, it is a wonderful place to live. For the most part, it has managd to escape Chicago's sprawl, which has also cut down on the traffic. The schools are wonderful, the landscape is wonderful, the people are very nice, the....well you ge the picture. If you are looking for brand new, then you might want to look into South Barrington, rather than the lake, but don't take that to the bank just yet. I never really explored South Barrington that much, but have heard it newer. The best part about the area is that it feels private and well established unlike other places to the south.

South Barrington ,as mentioned many times, is very 'different' from most of Barrington-land. Its a planet unto itself.

I think there's already 1,000 threads on Barrington and that it's not particularly useful to have a 1,001st thread on it.
