The HOA in Triumvera is a bunch of evil nazis. A couple years back they got into trouble for messing with a disabled person in a wheel chair and making him/her go in through a back service door. My grandma lived there and I remember a passover where there was not enough parking and it spilled over a little and it turned into a towfest horror and wrecked tons of people's holiday. The same thing happened on Easter except no towing.

They have a sad history of being dirtbags.

I checked the HOA fees for some Triumvera units and it was something like $400, so as you said, the place seems like a bargain up front but too expensive to live in for me.

Unfortunately my budget for home is so limited (~100K) that I can only afford a small basic condo, I think. Good thing is I work from home and have no kids, so I can live pretty much anywhere, but I hope to find something in the north/northwest suburbs, if possible. I'll probably start a new thread to solicit some recommendations for where to look, how to find a buyer's agent, etc.
You can still afford a house. Look in Dunhurst subdivision in Wheeling. East of Elmhurst and south of Dundee. 15 min north of Tiumvera. Lots of foresclosed homes in the neighborhood around $100,000. I just bought 920sq. ft., brick siding, 3 bedroom, 2 beth, with oversize garage for $110,000. Had to redo the kitchen, but otherwise house in decent condition. Nice quiet working class family based neighberhood with no HOA.
