Default Working in Niles

We have the potential to move from central MN to a job in Niles, IL. Looking for a place with a high school for a gifted student and reasonable housing costs. I have only been to Chicago once so I have no idea where to begin so any help/suggestions are appreciated.

We want to rent to start out with-need 3 bedrooms and a small dog.

Check out apartments off of Milwaukee Avenue and around the Golf Mill Shopping Center. Also, the school system in Niles is quite good, imo.

Niles school district is good. No bad parts of Niles. You'll be fine in any area, although I am impartial to the area that butts up against the city. It's around Harts Road and Milwaukee Road. Mapquest Milwaukee and Albion on mapquest and that's the area that I like. It's older with a city feel and some rehabbing and teardowns going on. A friend of mine lives there and it's very nice.
