Hello All,

I have recently moved to the NW Chicago suburbs and need to establish an address for my business (not a retail/office location, just a UPS Store box location). I was debating between Mount Prospect or Arlington Heights... technically the Mount Prospect location would be much more assessable for me regarding mail/package pick up. However, I want to be sensitive to the fact that this will be my business address that I put on my business cards, etc.

My customers will be from downtown Chicago as well as other suburban Chicago-land areas. Are there any big advantages to using Mount Prospect over Arlington Heights (or vice versa)? Seems like I have seen a lot more businesses from Arlington Heights and didn't want to pick Mount Prospect just because it is closer to me. Didn't know if there was any disadvantages to picking one over the other... such as reputation, etc. OR maybe it is no big difference???

Any ideas?

Very minor differences. Arlington Heights covers a larger geographic range and becuase of the race track is more widely known to those outside the region, but that is barely worth worrying about...

Pretending that they are both in the same city, which ever one has a better location to get business is the one I would choose, unless one place costs significantly more.

Arlington Heights is a little nicer as a town, but when it comes to businesses I wouldn't be concerned.

Arlington Heights is a bit more prestigious because it is larger and better known. It is pretty common for businesses to rent PO boxes in more prestigious towns. In the west suburbs some Westmont firms rent a box in Oak Brook.

Ditto. (and I agree the racetrack helps Arlington Heights out w/name recognition) Though the few times I've gone to either suburb, both seemed to be pretty nice to me, so I don't think your business would necessarily suffer if you chose Mount Prospect.
