Loyola would be an excellent choice and an easier location to get to from the Western burbs. There are so many top notch hospitals in the Chicagoland area to choose from. FYI, Children's also has a satellite clinic in Westchester. It's not for emergency care, but you can get non-emergent services there.

OP, the biggest thing holding you back is the traffic time issue. If you are willing to bend or remove that then your options open up greatly.

I'll have to check into Loyola...my understanding is that they have the Ronald McDonald children's hospital? Not a Level 1 trauma, but still very good?

A general rule for Chicago and any major city you can only expand in 1 direction so much until the commute by car becomes to much. Then its time to expand south and southeast into Indiana/north Into wisconsin etc.
