Hello,

I'm going to be relocating to the area for a job in Romeoville. I've always been the kind to live close to work as I can't stand driving in rush hour traffic.

I found a nice, new construction condo in downtown Lemont and was hoping to solicit some feedback from people familiar with the town, especially the downtown area since that's where the condo is located.

I've visited the area twice recently and spent the night in the condo. There are a few things I don't care for (2 sets of train tracks, gas refinery close by, some vacant buildings) but overall, it seems like a nice town.

Does anybody have any opinions on living in Lemont?

Thanks

Portions of Lemont definitely had some "over building" and that has depressed prices in the subsequent "bubble burst".

If work is in Romeoville you really cannot do better for commute -- of course if you're also looking for longer term price appreciation you may want to consider single family detached homes which probably will perform better over time and be just as convenient from a commute standpoint...
