Crime in Oak Forest has steadily fluctuated up and down in the past ten years. There has been no significant increase or decrease in crime at any point in time. In other words, there have been no "changes" for the better or for the worse.

Take a look at THE STATISTICS: http://www.city-data.com/city/Oak-Forest-Illinois.html

The crime index in 2000 was 153. The crime index in 2005 was 200. The crime index in 2010 was 128. Crime went up and then it went back down. But nothing too significant either way. Crime in Oak Forest has consistently been well below the national average.

Are you a cop? Know many? Do you live in OF? Not all crimes go reported first of all. I have lived in OF for more then 20 years and I telling you the truth...move at your own risk. When my car was broken into I did not report it and neither did my neighbors.
