Completely agree. Missed the " " around nice.

I second Lake Zurich. We just moved here from downtown and really like it. Schools were a concern for us as was a "decent" commute to downtown. The area is beautiful and is surrounded by beautiful areas like Kildeer, Barrington, Deer Park. Really gorgeous. I highly recommend!

No doubt. It's an aesthetically beautiful area and a great place to raise a family. You are very accessible to other NW burbs, north burbs and even the City when necessary. Glad you are happy with your choice!

Default Title is WRONG... Should be --

"3)Housing budget no more the $250k, SFH for sure and big yard a must, near recreation or bike paths would be nice but not a must. What can I get near my family in Grayslake?"

The "top Lake County Burbs" are not going to have anything in you budget. Lake Zurich might have some town homes at that price point, but so few SFHs that probably need LOTS of work that you might not be able to get them livable in your budget.

IF the place you found in Round Lake is part of the more desirable Grays Lake school district the reason for the discount may be because of the less desirable situation with being in Round Lake -- that will stick with the house when you go to sell too...

If you are OK with that I think you are pretty much done, though honestly a drive to / from Rosemont every day will not be easy.
