Hey everyone,

Moving to IL in January and looking to move to Schaumburg, I have a few posts on here already about it.

Anyways - What are the good/bad areas of Schaumburg? I've read around Golf Rd. is not so good and it seems like South is general a better area.

Thanks

Bad areas of Schaumburg!? Assuming this is a serious question, there is no such thing.

Agree with above. Bad in terms of what? I cannot think of any part of Schaumburg that would meet that criteria. Golf Rd is filled with retail stores. Not alot of communities on Golf. Maybe you could explain a little more what you mean??

Thanks for the replies. I am looking for an apartment in the area and some have gotten bad reviews, one where I read that the apartment buildings on Golf Rd. can be run down.

I am guessing it applies more to the apartment buildings, but I was curious if there was an area or section of Schaumburg that is better or worse than others in terms of crime, people in the area, etc.

golf and knollwood is a shady area..had a friend who lived at those apts and got robbed twice-two consecutive weekends, and got his tires slashed. also, salem and bode is pretty bad. but that's in hoffman estates on the border of schaumburg

Salem and Bode stay away, shooting a few years ago, Section 8 apartment building there.

In general, drive around the area you would like to live in, see how people keep up their homes, lawns, etc.
