Anyone know of any restaurants open Christmas eve that might have carry out we could take home for Christmas day meal? Best area is Oak Pk, LaGrange, Berwyn, or N. Riverside. Not fussy. Just want to eat !!

Whole Foods will have a great holiday menu where you can pick out any number of main courses and sides. When you call, ask to speak to their holiday table. I think you will have to order 48 hours in advance.

Although not cheap, it's not as pricey as you would think and it's great quality food. Tons of people were picking up complete Thanksgiving dinners. Friends did it this year too and they said it was excellent. We got our stuffing there for Thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious. Pick up will be on Christmas Eve. The Whole Foods is located on Harlem and Lake in River Forest.

For restaurants, try calling:

Antico Forno
Paesanos
Cucina Paradiso
Trattoria 225
La Bella
Barclays

Make sure you leave some "Holiday pay" for the waitress.

Justice Elena Kagan mentioned in her Supreme Court confirmation hearings: when a senator asked her where she was on Christmas, she said, "You know, like all Jews, I was probably at a Chinese restaurant."

Chef Shangri-La? I know there probably have to be some in the vicinity you're looking at, that will be open. At the very least, I bet you could find some in either La Grange or Oak Park that would be open, and maybe Berwyn if you're lucky. Perhaps there are one or 2 restaurants in Cicero on Cermak Rd. that might be open that night?

And I agree with the person above, a question like this would be better asked on LTH.
