Does anyone know anything about the Kingston Pointe Apartments in downtown Des Plaines? Are they close to Des Plaines metra stop?

Overall is the downtown Des Plaines a safe area and within walking distance to shops and restaurant or would have better luck in downtown Arlington Heights.

I want to walk to the train station, shops, and restaurants but feel safe doing so.

Thanks.

Did you Google it? Kingston Pointe Apartments — Downtown Des Plaines
Yes it is walking distance to Metra, shops and restaurants.
You are going to visit both areas before making a decision, right?
Not sure how the safety factor compares to AH, Des Plaines AFAIK doesn't have a crime "problem".

Yes, I plan on visiting both areas along with Highland Park.

I'm assuming no kids; but if you did I would say AH or Highland Park since their schools are better. Des Plaines aren't bad, just "middle of the road".
Let us know how the visit goes and your impressions.

I frequent Downtown Des Plaines often for lunch - lots of 'boutique' stores and restaurants, and then you have the main plaza on Market Street. Metra is within walking distance of your apt building. Have a buddy that lives a couple condos over. I would call DP a 'working class' community. No input on AH though sorry.

Both Des Plaines and Arlington Heights tried to make their downtown a destination. (Neo traditional)
But Arlington Heights did a better job.
