Does anybody have this service? Do you like it? Are you happy you switched from xxx? What about installations costs? I can't find anything on their website that notes how much a typical installation costs, they just list individual prices. Sounds like it would cost ~$150 to install.

Also, what about pricing? Has your rate increased dramatically over time (ie: low introductory rates)???

Check them out here if you haven't already: http://www1.wowway.com/

Thanks for your input!

I had WOW for years. It was cheaper and I really enjoyed the service. Unfortunately when I moved, they did not have the service here. I hate Comcast.

My rates stayed within 5 dollars up or down a month. Go for it! PM me for more detail

I currently have it. Internet seems fine, no extra $ to call in-laws in Canada. Phone service consistently, periodically crashes-have to reset mode. TV service with DVR is pretty good. Pausing on demand movies sometimes causes problems. Adding more HD channels but seemingly still behind sattelite. No outage problems, even in bad weather.
With tax about $145 per month. I suspect I could save some $ by going with satelite-too lazy to do analysis involved with un-bundling and having to source services from multiple vendors.

No, I've already gone the sattelite route. It's not worth it. I loved WOW and I would not advise anyone to switch. COME TO SOUTH SUBURBIA WOW!

I have WOW now. It's so-so. Our Internet used to crash at least once a day, and when we'd call, we were always told, "Oh, you need this patch" or "Oh, we need to upgrade such-and-such." Well, why not just DO that instead of killing my Internet? The problems have settled down, though, and it's OK. The DVR fills up way too quickly, and if we don't clean out our recorded shows, we rapidly run out of space. The sound goes out sometimes, but that could be our problem.

I wish we could just get basic cable and HBO without having to pay for all the junk in between, but nobody seems to offer that.

Isn't that because the laws allow them to bundle? Been a while, but Congress was working on forcing Cable providers to offer ala Carte service and comply with other new regulations in an attempt to reduce consumer costs.

I didn't know that. A la carte would be nice. I don't want 150 sports channels. I don't want all the premium channels. I don't want to pay extra for a bunch of stuff I never watch just so I can see True Blood on Sundays.

I think Uverse allows you to do ala Carte. I have pretty basic cable and HBO and nothing else.

I looked at WOW when I was starting to hate Comcast and decided to go the Uverse route instead. And so far (1 week in) I am loving it!

We'd love to get Uverse, but they don't offer it on my street yet. Boo!

Thanks for all the responses. Now I have 2 questions:

I was wondering about this, mostly. I have a friend who has digital phone (through Comcast, I think) and when ever I call it the signal is horrible, as in it sounds like a cell phone that is out of range and in a tunnel. Even dropped a few calls... Do you ever experience anything like that? Will your 'crashes' occur during a call or when there is no call? Does it affect your other services?

And isn't "CubsSoxFan" a bit too of an oxymoron? LOL! j/k

So are you saying that with WOW, in order to get any of the movie channels you have to get them all?

Thanks again!
