Hi All,

My wife and I will be moving to Evanston in May so I can attend a graduate program, and she will be looking for an elementary teaching position nearby. She'd like to teach in one of the north suburbs (Evanston, Skokie, Highland Park, etc.) but we are unsure of the best way to approach finding a position.

We have heard that it is very competitive- what should we expect? My wife currently teaches in a nationally recognized district in Kansas City and will have extremely good references, etc.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

One of the most competitive areas to find a position as a educator in. I'm born and raised in Skokie and was fortunate enough to find a position in Skokie teaching 1/2 time. I have since moved on to the western suburbs because I was unable to find a full time deal.

Good luck!
