Default commute time from La Grange to Lombard

I'm wondering what you guys think the commute time would be during rush hour from La Grange to Lombard? Is there a train/subway that easily connects the two?
What about commute time from Oak Park to Lombard?
Thanks for your time,
summers19

Default Commute times

I live very close to Oak Park and drive to Lombard daily. It takes about 45 minutes; sometimes less, sometimes more if it's raining or snowing. LaGrange, Oak Park and Lombard all have Metra train service, I just don't know if they're on the same train line. Check the Metra website for train routes and schedules. If there is train service, the ride would be pretty short.

Default Railroad Ties From La Grange

Dear Friends:

Although both Lombard, IL and La Grange, IL have METRA railroad services, they are not on the same system. Leaving La Grange and going 'west' would place you on the Burlington-Northern (B-N) system. And that would go through Naperville, Illinois. The B-N system also shares its tracks with the Amtrak system and the Santa-Fe. However, the Santa - Fe probably (?) no longer operates under its original name.
To get into Lombard via the railroad systems, one would be on the Union Pacific 'West Line'. That system would take you to Lombard, Wheaton and would eventually terminate at its western terminus in Elburn, Illinois.
So if you were very, very desparate such as in a severe Chicago snow storm blizzard, then from La Grange, one could take the B-N into Chicago's Union station. Then, in downtown Chicago, walk about one block to the Olgivie station and board that Union Pacific West Line (METRA) train for Lombard. During one severe winter storm of the past, I had to do this. Not from Lombard or La Grange, but another combination of towns. It took me about four hours to get home that day. 'Hope this helps you.

Best Regards,

Carter Glass
