villa park illinois
Can anyone tell me the bad parts of villa park. Where are the indian communities (N or South) what about mexican communities which i want to avoid? What are the best schools there? And tell me more about the area, like shopping centers and highways?

I can tell you that St Charles rd runs thru it on one side,rt 83 is a main artery as well, and Roosevelt rd.Shopping is ok,all your essentials are there and its borders include Lombard and Elmhurst(both nice towns with parks, library, good shopping) and its a quick ride to Oakbrook Center,a huge, really nice mall with major restaraunts ,hotels, etc.I dont know about the schools but the schools in all the surrounding towns are very good. You also have the metra to the city

The indian places are all off roosevelt road. There is an indian banquet hall there right across from evergreen plaza. (if it's still open). The north side all along north avenue has lots of apartments that are now mostly mexican residents. The nicest part just north and south of along st. charles road from the elmhurst border to the lombard border and by the downtown area by the train also by the prairie path.
They go to willowbrook high school. VP is a great location with good shopping, I don't know why it is not more popular. It has a train and is by the prairie path. Probably because it doesn't have much of a "cute" downtown center.

Also, not sure if it is Villa park or Oak brook terrace there, but stay out of the brandywine subdivision off roosevelt road and midwest. Kinda rough - at least it was a while ago - we knew someone who lived there that got robbed 3 times, they moved out of there quickly obviously.

I can't imagine their would be bad parts of a town nestled in between Elmhurst and Lombard. I drive thru Villa Park daily on St. Charles and never have a worry, so I suppose the trouble must be closer to Rosevelt Rd. The traffic too.

I should reiterate: there are not any known bad neighborhoods, but areas that need a good thorough makeover.

According to the DuPage County Sherrifs Deptartment, Brandywine is a safe area to live. Considering there are 1187 units crime per capitia is lower than many other communities.
