St. Charles (I live there) is good for a more "easygoing" atmosphere. More quaint, good schools - regardless of comments here otherwise. More house for your money still. But it is far away from downtown, if that is an issue for you, don't move here. Excellent park district and library. Yes, there are backups on north avenue during rush hour. However, there are two plans for bridges in the next 10 years. One, the stearns corridor bridge, is being built now. This will be an extension to the elgin o'hare.

Geneva is also a town to consider in the fox river valley. Really nice with a great downtown shopping area.

Naperville good. Good schools from what I hear. I seem to sense more "keeping up the joneses" attitudes from people I know who live there. Depends on which area you live in. The Older part of naperville is really nice. The traffic on route 59 through naperville is horrendous during rush hours, just merely bad, during off hours. Avoid this area.

Wheaton - very nice. Very central location with 2 trains to get downtown. I don't know anything about the schools but it is very conservative. Until recently it was dry. There are lots of churches here.

All 3 are good. Just depends on what you want, and where you are commuting to!! That should be a MAJOR factor, since even what seems like a short distance, can take a very long time to drive because of traffic backups.

Check goodschools.net for school ratings and reviews.

Thank you Frank, Im glad someone else here sees what I see.
