I live in Villa Park, not too far from O'hare. I feel like whenever the wind shifts so that the landing pattern is over my house (Runway 4R), there are planes flying over my house about every 60 seconds or less. The worst part is they do this from about 6am to about 10pm.

I have lived here all my life and never really noticed the planes until about a year or so ago.

Have the landing patterns changed since the modernization program, so that they are more frequent on certain runways, or am I just crazy?

They also seem lower, but that could be because I notice them more often now. Any updates from anyone would be appreciated.

That usage report says it hasn't changed very much in the last 5 years, so I guess I'm crazy then.

Thanks for the info.

I just moved to Villa Park . . .in the many times we came to see the house, I did not notice the airplane noise. It wasn't until our final walk-through that my husband said, "Wow-- that plane is flying low!"

We get airplanes overhead pretty much all day, but it's much better at night. It does bother me. Hope I get used to it!

I moved just 2 miles away (I was west) and this was not an issue. I specifically avoided Des Plaines because of this-- had no idea airplane noise was even a consideration in VP!

I guess it's better than a barking dog?
