Default Working in Matteson(near I-80), but don't want to live there

Hi, my husband will be temporarily working for 8 months in Matteson,IL which is just south of I-80. Based on what I have read, the southern suburbs are not what the type of community we are looking for. I am trying to find apartments that are new and very nice that won't be a horrendous commute to Matteson. I have found a few I like near the Woodridge/Bolingbrook area, but I don't know the rush hour traffic patterns around Chicago.

Is driving south towards I-80/Matteson a bad morning rush? Any other comments are welcomed. Thanks

Tinley Park and Orland Park are very nice suburbs and not far from Matteson. You may want to check them out. Woodridge/Bolingbrook shouldn't be too terrible a commute once the I355 extension is completed, but untill then I expect it will be pretty bad.
