Hi there,

My partner and I are relocating from England to the US due to a new job, located in Lombard, and need some advice on where to look for a rental home/apartment. We are both mid-twenties, quite a sporty couple and enjoy socializing. We are coming from a quiet countryside village so a busy city would not be ideal but we don't want to be completely out in the sticks! A big point for us is local sports clubs, my partner is a keen soccer and cricket player (although as far as I know cricket isn't very big out there!!). Our budget would be about $1500 for a 2 bedroom place, and would like to be within a 30 minute drive of Lombard. If you have any suggestions on where we should be looking then that would be greatly appreciated!

Default You sound like the perfect fit for...

...Naperville.

Check out http://www.dreamcricket/npdcl/aboutus.aspx

In fairness I understand there are also cricket leagues in Chicago and Evanston too, but those areas are considerable more "busy city" than Naperville and generally A LOT LONGER than 30 minutes away

Why not stay in Lombard? Or nearby Oakbrook/Oakbrook Hills? That way you get a five minute commute. You can find soccer leagues everywhere -and Oakbrook has a cricket club, I think.

I agree. If you live in Lombard, you can always drive to wherever your league is playing once or twice a week during off hours. You'll most likely be going to work 5 days a week during peak times.
