Default Batavia, Illinois

Dear Friend:

In Aurora, I do not know where the Univ. of Auroa is physically located. However, I am familiar with Waubonsee Community College and its location. However, Waubonsee is not your choice / solution.
Batavia, Illinois is a very beautiful / safe nearby town to Aurora. And it is also the home of Mooseheart, IL (a city within the city). Mooseheart is similar to Girls & Boys Town U.S.A. And so now an alternate college suggestion.
Why not also consider Northern Illinois University at De Kalb, Illinois? They also have a very good 'graduate' program in many vocational topics. In fact, my oldest son is a graduate student there. He is working towards his Master of Education degree.
Between Aurora, Illinois and De Kalb, Illinois - - I rate De Kalb much higher. That's because I believe it is a safer town. My son lives in Cortland, Illinois and so I am familiar with De Kalb, too. I hope this also helps you with a little extra information, too.

Best Regards,

Carter Glass,

Cortland, IL

Default A P.S. To My Previous Thread

Dear Friend:

I am always in a hurry to write and then get off my ISP. That's because I frequently get dumped off due to our only ISP (Att.net) in Wheaton, Illinois. The volume is overloaded most of the time. So here is another reason why NIU is so much better. (Please read my previous thread)
When you are registered with NIU graduate classes - - and if your residence is in the district - - then you can 'back pedal' somewhat. So what do I mean by this?
A neaby community college is known as Kishwaukee Community College and located in Malta, Illinois. Kishwaukee is six miles West of the NIU campus in DeKalb. And NIU will currently take GENERAL EDUCATION courses from 'Kish' towards your graduate degree at NIU.
So take general courses at 'Kish' and then transfer them back to NIU. 'KISH' tuition is cheaper than NIU. In that way, 'you' can save a good amount of money in tuition costs.
I suppose NIU will eventually 'destroy' this opportunity since NIU wants your money. However, it appears to be current valid - - with cross transferering one's credit hours back to NIU. So maybe you should try that method? It could save you and your family a bunch of tuition money.

Best Regards,

Carter Glass

Thank you so much for your helpful information!!! It is so hard relocating when you are unfamiliar with an area. You have helped a great deal! I will definitely check into NIU.

Default Hello Preciousalicia

The only important critique in my above threads is that you must be a resident in the district for this to 'work'. So that might mean that you have to live in your own or relative's house for your residency clause to work at KISH. And there might be something like a time element, too. Maybe you have to live in that house for one year before claiming residency for "KISH" in - district requirements.
Actually , I don't know the answer to this exact question. That's because my son owns his own house in Cortland, IL. So he qualifies for in - district tuition at 'KISH'. But, if you have an interest in the above ideas, then ASK KISH first regarding their residency definition of the KISH requirements.
Obviously, if you are not a resident in the way KISH interprets, then you might have to pay out of district tuition prices for the KISH part.
Most of the time, people don't charge for answers to questions. So give KISH some very specific questions in regards to all of this.
Good success with your Grad School quest.

Best Regards,

Carter Glass
