Drop-In Childcare?
Has anyone ever heard of Drop-In Childcare? While visiting NC we found these centers all over the place. They are daycare centers that you can just drop off your child after filling out some paperwork. You can walk in with no appointment needed and they are much cheaper than a babysitter. Some are open on Friday and Saturday night until midnight or later. I thought I had found a site where they were opening up a center or two in the Chicagoland area. Love to hear your thoughts on it.

It's not widespread around here but some places do offer drop-in care. The daycare I worked at this past summer did but they weren't open beyond the normal hours (M-F 7am-6pm).

Drop-In Childcare?
Yes, we've got one down here in Memphis! Just opened up: Kid Station - Drop-In And Play Center. I hear they are going to put one in Chi-town soon....

I have not heard of drop-in child care centers but several churches offer "parent's night out" and "parent's day out" programs. It is on a first come ,first served basis. They use the money to benefit their childrens' programs, etc... I have not used this service but know people who do and they love it!

Please, no offense to anyone, but I could not imagine just dropping off my child at a daycare. I'd rather get a baby sitter that I know and trust, and who my daughter knows and trusts. The situation of course is different if your child goes to daycare all week. But to just drop them off in some strange environment is not something I could do.
Again, no offense-just my opinion.

When you open you should list your daycare on kidwinks.com. I believe it is free to list and lots of parents use the site. The nice thing is that members can review businesses.
