Dundee between rte83 and the PD fits your description, but between wolf and Milwaukee has received attention and looks nicer.

Wheeling arrived at "downhill" back in the 1990's. If you are opening a laundromat or some low budget auto shop you might be okay.

Not really. A lot of mid-high end condos and townhomes have been recently built. Lots of new shops around Milwaukee and Dundee. Starbucks also and they don't open locations where "a laundromat or some low budget auto shop" are the only viable businesses. However, it still is much more middle class than surrounding suburbs.

A "low budget" auto repair shop is kind of an oxymoron. Often times, people with "low budgets" don't really get their car repaired unless it's cheaper than buying a new one.. lol

I think you meant "DISCOUNT auto repair shop". And yes, there's a difference. When you're shelling out 500 bucks, there's nothing "low budget" about it - even if it may be "cheap," relatively speaking.

I don't mean to start an "off topic" semantic argument but it does matter. One of the best ways to control thought is to control language. Words matter.

Doesn't seem odd to call some auto shops "low budget" -- I've personally been in several places (often run by immigrants) that are proud to say they are far less expensive than a dealer or fancy chain shop... Wheeling has several of these type places and they seem safe enough.

I don't agree with that at all. Wheeling is not Barrington for sure but is is not exactly the low rent district either. Most people there have washers and dryers.

Most people who rent in apartments at any price range don't have washers and dryers. The same goes for condominiums. This is to say nothing of the HUGE machines landramats sometimes have that can get a bunch of landnry done in one swoop. It doesn't have to be a low rent district for there be a market for a laundromat.

BUT it doesn't have to be in an area with much money to maintain a successful landramat either. It's hardly a sign of the area being a good place for bussness. I'm just pointing out that it doesn't automatically make the area a "low rent district". That's kinda silly..
