Need Opinions Moving to Aurora or Algonquin/Lake in the Hills (Chicago: showing, house hunting)

Hello Everyone!

My fiancee and I are moving to Chicago. I currently live here downtown and he is moving in from Pittsburgh. We do not have a specific area we want to live. We are working with 2 realtors: One is showing us homes in Aurora with Naperville Schools(204) or Owsego(308). The other is showing us homes in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills(not sure about schools).

We are looking for a nice, clean and safe neighborhood. I would like to be able to walk the streets at night without worrying.

I fly out every week and would like to have 30-45 min drive to the airport. I will also drive to Buffalo Grove 2 times a month for meetings. My fiancee will be working in Northern IL (Northern half of the state - all over).

We are getting married next year and looking for a 4 bedroom home. We have no kids and not planning to anytime soon. We both work from home that is why the need for 4 rooms(2 offices & guest room). Our price range is $275 - $350,000.

We plan on staying in the home 3-5 years and then moving on. My fiancees company transferes him in to a new job every 3-5 years. We want to make sure the value of the home stays and surrounding areas are nice and desirable for future buyers.

Any information or opinions will help. This will be our first home so we are trying to do our research. Let me know if you have any questions!

All your areas are "safe" with some spotty areas in Aurora. If you choose Aurora, definitly go with Naperville schools. Nothing "wrong" with schools in Algonquin or Lake in the hills, not as "good" as N'vill which seems to be very desirable in the education dept.Also,they are all busy areas as far as home selling activity,HOWEVER,as with most of the country,there is much on the market, and things are quiet,,good for the buyer.In 3-5 years, I would HOPE all is selling well again.
