I watched Tom Hanks run out of the old Geneva Hotel and get in a getaway car at least twenty times. Every take looked good to me. It was shot in Geneva, West Dundee and Chicago. Geneva got credit in the end of the movie. West Dundee didn't. Probably because they didn't ask for it.

That area you mentioned is on the edge of Carpentersville/Algonquin border. My best friend lives in that subdivision, and I lived there with her for a short while. You can pretty much avoid C-ville by going into Algonquin for anything you need. I don't care for C-ville myself, but Silverstone is a nice little community.
Oh yeah, I watched the filming of Road to Perdition in Geneva too, and took pictures. I also wanted to say you can PM me for more info. I lived there for quite awhile. |

I'm closer to Downtown Algonquin than Carpentersville, Our new place is at rt. 25 and algonquin rd.

Yes you're right dega. The only time I was in the heart of Carpentersville is when I drove down Rt 25 to get to other places. Silverstone is definitely a whole separate community from C-ville. The closest Jewel (grocery store) is actually in Algonquin, as are most places you'll end up frequenting.

What do you think the commute from C-ville/Algonquin to Hoffman will be?

Easy. Algonquin rd to Hoffman Estates ,,maybe 15 minutes ? Of course it depends where your work/home is.

15-20 min TOPS - not a bad commute at all! I'd recommend driving down 25 to Higgins to get to Hoff Est. The stretch of Algonquin Rd nearest to Silverstone could get really bad in the mornings, taking much longer than it should.

Yeah i think taking 25 to higgins will work the best, my husband will be working at the at&t building right there at 90 and barrington rd.
