I watched Tom Hanks run out of the old Geneva Hotel and get in a getaway car at least twenty times. Every take looked good to me. It was shot in Geneva, West Dundee and Chicago. Geneva got credit in the end of the movie. West Dundee didn't. Probably because they didn't ask for it.

That area you mentioned is on the edge of Carpentersville/Algonquin border. My best friend lives in that subdivision, and I lived there with her for a short while. You can pretty much avoid C-ville by going into Algonquin for anything you need. I don't care for C-ville myself, but Silverstone is a nice little community.
Oh yeah, I watched the filming of Road to Perdition in Geneva too, and took pictures.
I also wanted to say you can PM me for more info. I lived there for quite awhile.

Yes you're right dega. The only time I was in the heart of Carpentersville is when I drove down Rt 25 to get to other places. Silverstone is definitely a whole separate community from C-ville. The closest Jewel (grocery store) is actually in Algonquin, as are most places you'll end up frequenting.

We got to see them film the scene where Tom Hanks gets shot and his son drives the get away car(in Geneva). They must've done it 10 or more times. It was kind of fun to watch.
The question about Carpentersville.I won't even drive through it.I wouldn't live there if I didn't have to.There are alot of better areas to go.

15-20 min TOPS - not a bad commute at all! I'd recommend driving down 25 to Higgins to get to Hoff Est. The stretch of Algonquin Rd nearest to Silverstone could get really bad in the mornings, taking much longer than it should.
