I read online that these cities offer what I want, but would like to get insight and recommendations from actual residents or people who know of city. Flossmoor seems like the best place, but wonder if it is segregated.

Thanks in advance!!
I'd advise you to avoid the southland in general. That area is in serious decline.

STOP SCARING PEOPLE AWAY! It's really not that bad as some people portray it to be, you act like the OP is planning to move to Harvey or Riverdale. Homewood,Flossmoor, Olympia Fields are EXTREMELY nice areas, even the far south part of Country Club Hills is nice, huge houses. God people like you make me sick....

Volunteer for the YMCA, and maybe coach a soccer or football team or whatever it is that you can manage to do. They need help, and it's a good way to reach the troubled youth who may be moving in at this time.

The only thing the "troubled youth" care about is how many bulletholes they can shoot in each other.

They are NOT EXTREMELY NICE anything! As of now they're OK communities but its only a matter of time before they decline even further. The school test scores at Rich Central says it all.

Olympia Fields hasnt had ANY murders in the last 10 years, Homewood hasnt had ANY murders in the past decade, Same for Flossmoor. Maybe you should volunteer as a tutor if your so concerned about these "troubled youth". I will agree with you on this, CC Hills is going down the gutter, but Olympia Fields, Homewood, and Flossmoor are nowhere near decline.

Well, this directly contradicts what you said earlier, which was that it's been too late to help them since the mid-2000s...

The decline of Country Club Hills

I mean, just tell us the real reasons. You lack the desire to get involved because.....?

What I said earlier was strictly about CCH itself. THAT town is too far gone. Another thing that gets me is how none of you seem to care about the schools. Test scores are down! As for the youth the old saying applies: "You can take them out the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of them"

You, and other working class south suburbanites like you, need to get involved and help do that. If you flee to New Lenox or whatever, they're just going to eventually follow you.

Once again, "you can take them out the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of them". I don't why they couldn't just leave up the projects.

McNick joins this forum and writes a bunch of posts talking mad trash about the south suburbs. It's interesting you assume he's a "working class south suburbanite" himself. He didn't specify anything about who he was or where he's from.

Thanks, anyway, though.
