Mitchell's in Homewood is excellent. I know the orginal owners sold the place recently but I think someone bought and re-opened it. If so, check out that place. Awesome ice-cream.

Its not a 'parlor' per se, but Graham's Chocolate in Geneva has the best homeade ice cream around!

Margie's Candies is a great place. it is packed in the summer. I'm not sure about the winter since I always go when it is warm.

Plush horse in Palos Park ( I'm with the rest on this one !) , the Daily Scoop in Clarendon Hills, Premo's in Oak Lawn ( great rich soft serve ), Oberweis (you pick your location, yum) and Ollies in Dekalb, great custard. Peterson's in Oak Park is good as well, and Homer's on Green Bay in Wilmette has good ice cream too!!! We all scream for ( fill in the blank ) !!
