My job is probably moving me to Skokie next summer. I want a short commute... Park Ridge looks like a nice town... how's the airport noise? Thank you!

The noise can be bad especially towards Touhy. It's amazing the difference if your under a traffic pattern or not. I would definitely recommend "hanging out" in prospective areas, to determine how bad it gets. Most of the older homes there are well built brick, and generally isn't disturbing (noise) inside.

As to the short commute....most of the east/west roads between Skokie/ PR are slow. At best, I would say 20- 30 mins., rush hour could be 45-1hr. Besides rush hour, you would also have to consider the airport traffic delays in certain areas.

I'm from the beautiful city. The noise was never a problem. However, if you pick a home there near Chicago or P.r. , there could be some... but a good choice though. It has a nice downtown and good schools, and itz safe. Home prices are getting high, and so are the taxes.
