This might be a little bit off topic for this forum but people seem knowledgeable about the area so I will ask. I am looking to build a new home in Western Suburb of Dupage County. I would like to work with a builder that can manage the entire project and would be willing to finance the construction as I do not have enough cash on hand to complete the project myself. Does anyone have any builder recommendations, cautions, etc. that they could offer up if they have done something similar?

Thanks in advance.

No reputable builder would finance new construction without either a construction-to-permanent or traditional financing. In all honestly get that in place FIRST as it is very likely to be eye-opening: even folks with large cash reserves often find an existing home to be a wiser purchase as the equity requirement is far higher for new construction, especially considering you need to own the land outright and in many desirable you will need upwards of $300k for a buildable lot...

Now if want a mass builder that may still be throwing up houses in Oswego or Plainfield (both of which are outside DuPage Co. ...) odds are they really have a different model-- they have relationship with a financing source and start construction on contract.
