Yeah, the Country House does have great burgers, set in a neat restaurant. I figured Id also mention Garibaldi's. Great NYC-style pizza!

The Lantern in Lake Forest for good burgers and kid friendly atmosphere (they have electric trains running around the ceiling), Charlie Beinlich's Food and Tap in Northbrook (basically a bar with a limited menu which includes fabulous cheeseburgers), and Tacos El Norte in Highwood (I wouldn't drive up from the city to go there, but if you're in the area, it's good, cheap, authentic mexican food.) . In addition to the authentic and cheap food, they also have a great jukebox playing with only mexican music selections.

Westchester Inn - off 31st street and wolf road in westchester. Very good - reasonably priced bohemian style food. Be prepared to be very full. And the restaurant is very small in size. Pork tenderloin, fruit dumplings, svickova... yum!!

Japanese Style and Sushi
Yue Sue in Georgetown Square at Prospect & Irving Pk Road in WoodDale they have those japan 77 style cooking surfaces where they cook for you and also a "conveyor belt" kind of system for the lil plates for the sushi and other items. it's pretty nifty. we've been regulars for years. |

One of my favs is Harrison's located on 158th and La Grange Road in Orland Park. They make their own beer there in their brewery located in the south portion of the restaurant and the food is excellent and surprisingly not too expensive! Harrison's Restaurant & Brewery
For a good pizza I would give Ed and Joes in Tinley Park a two thumbs up. Ed n Joes-Home I was surprised to see it has been voted best pizza in Chicago. For a breakfast that will make you have to move your belt buckle down a notch or two check out Lumes. Illinois Pancakes: Lumes Pancake House, Orland Park Lots of food at a good price. Best Greek food check out Dionysos in Worth. Dionysos Restaurant, 10700 S Harlem Ave, Worth, IL on Yahoo! Local Last edited by NYrules; 11-21-2007 at 12:37 PM. |
