Default Bull Valley area

My husband has been transferred to Crystal Lake area and we are looking into putting our two high school age kids into Marian Central.

We looked around for a house and really like the Bull Valley area (mainly because of school commute for the kids). Does anyone know why there are so many houses for sale in the Bull Valley area near the golf course - that is the only thing that scares me about looking for a house in that area, other than the high prices!!

We just need a nice neighborhood with an easy school commute for the kids.

Any inputs???

Thanks!

Default high prices taxes

I believe it's the very high real estate taxes that have forced many older to people leave as they can't afford to retire in McHenry County. good luck!

High taxes, and, a lot of new construction chase people out. Real Estate market is stagnant, lowering the home values. It's a buyers market at this time. Beautiful area to live and raise a family.

I love Mchenry County. But I must tell you, Bull Valley has a reputation for being "haunted"

This is just me...but I have always that that Greenwood, IL in McHenry County (by Galt Airport) is the most adorable little town and would love to live there someday if I had kids. They seem like a tight knit community too, and have fun with the little airport being there. I dont know a thing about taxes....but its close to bull valley and not in crystal lake (more expensive I presume)

its also near glacier park, another one of my favorite places to do some walking/hiking.

Thanks for the info - I'll let you know if I see any ghosts. Will also check out Greenwood, sounds like a nice place.
