![]() To the OP: Naperville sounds exactly what youre looking for. And there are indeed parts of Aurora that are lovely, but alot of the town is also crime-ridden (particularly the near east side) and nasty. |

I agree with the suggestion of locating a job first. At your price range, I recommend the Hollywood section of Brookfield. It is within walking distance of the Metra stop (train line to Chicago) and within some very good school districts. It's a 20 minute ride from Chicago which, over the years, your husband will appreciate a whole lot more than an hour ride. Hollywood is a turn of the century area with lots of interesting houses, with some very respectable 3 bedroom houses at the $300k level. There are a large number of school districts nearby (Cicero, Berwyn, Lyons, Brookfield, LaGrange, etc.) My wife teaches in Cicero and she's been happy with the district, except she's looking forward to retirement!
