I live in Park Ridge. It's nice but BORING. Of course, I am a newlywed with no kids. I think a SAHM would love it here. It seems like on our whole street, everybody is either retired or there are families where the mom does not work. I think the husband and I are the only DINKS here. LOL.
Proximity to O'Hare is great. Easy access to the loop on Metra-Dee Road stop or Park Ridge. On housing, not sure if you could find what you want in your price range here. DH and i rent a 2-bedroom, 1 bath house with study and pay $1550/month. We don't plan on staying here long enough to make buying worthwhile, but I think our house would go for 4-500K and be torn down. |

Do yourself a huge favor-- go by and talk to the principal at the local school and talk to potential neighbors before signing a contract to lease or buy.
I hear of so many people who find out they hate their neighbors or the school admin after they already moved into a house. A tall fence only does so much. |
