Ideas for my parents?

What about Oak Park? Quick ride on the Green/Blue to downtown and its very walkable.

-They're Catholic, and are looking to be active members in a parish

Obviously schools aren't an issue, and while they do want access to Chicago, it's not like they're going to be commuting there every day. (Or anywhere, for that matter.)
